Help for Spanish Greyhounds

The Spanish Galgo is one of the dog breeds most mistreated in the world. Spain is perhaps the country where Galgos are living and dying in the most terrible manner. There, more than 50,000 Galgos per year are killed. Many of them are before abandoned and/or tortured: they are burned alive, hanged from trees, killed of hunger, thrown alive to wells…
Amigos de Milord rescues Galgos since 2006. In the video some of them can be seen, and in the adopted section of the web there are many more. We took care of them, provided them with all the veterinary attention that they needed, and looked for good homes for them. But we need help to go on helping these wonderful beings. We still have a big veterinary depth, accumulated from some of those cases. And new cases keep arriving, like Al-Julhara… This young galgo was rescued in the middle of the street, a car had run him down and he was limping, disoriented, with the body full of scars, undernourished, dehydrated and very afraid… We called him Al-Julhara because it means „jewel“, and that is what he is, a jewel.
We will take good care of Al-Julhara until we find for him a family that loves him as he deserves.
But we need urgently economical help to go on with this rescue work.
Please help us to give them the second opportunity that they deserve.
